Mural by Ngāti Haumia ki Paekākāriki photo by Mark Coote
Wai Ata Studio is a creative space on Ngāti Haumia ki Paekākāriki land. It is run by film-maker, photographer and musician Himiona Grace (Ngāti Toa, Te Ati Awa, Ngāti Porou) and actor, musician and teacher Julia Truscott.
They run open and free after school sessions twice weekly at Wai Ata.
Wai Ata is available as a space to hire for individuals or groups. Meetings, rehearsals, writing or working space. Comfortable, sunny, welcoming and equipped with a kitchen, table, couches and a wharepaku all available to use at a reasonable rate.
Our recording booth is equipped for musicians, singers, podcasters and film makers. Sound proof and peaceful. Do it yourself or we are available to record and produce as well.
